Underwood Dance

Rachel Frasier is a North Carolina Teaching Fellow and graduate of Meredith College, where she majored in Dance and earned her K-12 Dance Education Certification.  A 21 year veteran of the teaching profession, Mrs. Frasier has worked at West Lake Elementary (Dance/Drama), Holly Grove Elementary (Media), Herbert Akins Elementary (Media) and is proud to have called Underwood her home for 10 years now.  She has been dancing since the age of 5 and teaching dance in various capacities since the age of 11 (here's a secret - she was the captain of her high school dance/drill team!).

Mrs. Frasier's interest in brain research has lead to the implementation of Brain Dance concepts in her dance curriculum instruction and Conscious Discipline powers, skills and structures in her classroom.  Her additional duties at Underwood include working with Mrs. Cooper to lead the school's Conscious Discipline efforts and supervising bus arrivals with Mrs. Judge-Lenkeit and Mrs. Ward.  She actively participates in the WCPSS Elementary Dance PLT and Conscious Discipline Cohort and in the past has served as an ASW (Analysis of Student Work) assessor in elementary dance for NCDPI.  Outside of school Mrs. Frasier is a Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor which gives her the opportunity to provide training and coaching to parents and teachers.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, crocheting, all crafts and searching the internet for new technology tools her students can use in class.
